About Recce

The short version

Born from two flatmates, friends and colleagues – Lachlan and Sam – Recce’s vision is to be a one-stop shop for a company or person to enhance or start its online presence. We do social media content creation through videography, graphic design, photography, and overall packages. Together with this, we create websites and offer online solutions, along with the digital content required for these.

Meet Sam:

This is Sam. Sam has a background in Broadcasting, finishing a Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications in 2019 with an Internship at TVNZ. After that, she spent a bonus six months with the TVNZ team, editing for the news. John Campbell said ‘nice pants’ to her once. Then, she moved to Invercargill for a video position, so she could be closer to her Nana. Once she settled in the great South, she started studying in her spare time (business, graphic design (short course) and digital marketing), to ensure she had a cohesive suite of skills for the Recce dream.

Meet Lachie:

This is Lachlan. Sam and Lachlan met at the same workplace, where he works in development. His degree is in Information Technology which he got down here in Southland! He likes to program things in his spare time. For example, Sam once asked if he could make an application that moved her alarm forward 10 minutes any time there was a frost in the morning. He made it – it was called IMCF (is my car frozen).

Winton School Movie

Winton School’s Principal Steve Wadsworth approached us with an ambitious, exciting project. He had written a feature film to be acted by his school of 275 students.

After 37 days of filming between February and September, we got to call wrap and take this beast into post production.

Recce has been a part of this project from supporting the pre-production, filming, to teaching the film crew of five industry skills from cinematography to photography; right through to the post production, marketing and website development.

Active Southland Road Saftey Videos

We were engaged to do a series of road safety videos written, planned and acted by students. Windsor North, Winton Primary and Te Anau Primary all took part in one writing session, one planning session, and one filming session.
